Answer to Prayer About Forgiveness

God answers prayer!

I just knew the answer to my question on forgiveness had to be in God’s Word somewhere, I just didn’t know where. I am in my 50s and I don’t recall ever coming across the verse that answered my question on forgiveness before. And yet there it is; plain as the nose on Big Bird’s face. I found the answer I was looking for! Luke 17:3 

“If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”

It is pretty much how I expected God to be. I was pretty sure, but not confident enough to base my viewpoint on it. Now I am though. As long as they boldly declare they are going to continue to talk about us, and spread lies about us, we are within God’s law to rebuke them. If they repent we will forgive them as if they did nothing, and then work on restoring the relationship. 

This puts my mind at ease.
