Returning an Inappropriate Gift
The wife wrote a short letter to her mother regarding the gossiping and inappropriate treatment of our two boys. We will drop it off later today. I pray it all goes well. This is what th eletter said,
Dear Mother,
I am returning this gift to you. You never should have sent me something. This gift is extremely offensive to me, and to my family. I do not know if you know this, but I have three (3) children. I do not have only Jade, but unfortunately, my side of the family forgets this.
I have said what I have said in regards to gossip, slander, and yet it does not seem to matter, as I am only human….. so, I am going to leave it in God’s hands, in God’s own words what HE has to say about gossip, slander, etc, I am only listing some versus, there are hundreds more that talk about gossip, slander, lying and the consequences if you do these things;
Proverbs 16:28; A perverse man sows strife, And a whisperer separates the best of friends.
Psalm 41:6; They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere.
Proverbs 11:13; A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.
Proverbs 20:19; A gossip goes around telling secrets, so don’t hang around with chatterers.
Proverbs 25:10; Others may accuse you of gossip, and you will never regain your good reputation.
Proverbs 25:23; As surely as a north wind brings rain, so a gossiping tongue causes anger.
Proverbs 26:20; Fire goes out without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops.
Proverbs 10:18; Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool.
Exodus 20:16; 9th Commandment; You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Exodus 20:17; 10th Commandment; You shall not covet your naighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
