Your Evil Heart

“Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked. “Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer. But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands will never defile you.”

This world is so filled with hate lately. It’s dripping with it. Unfortunately, it affects us. It makes us angry and hateful. You can hear it in our communication lately. I hear it in my kid’s words. It really makes me sad. 

They used to love playing and having fun, and now it seems they only know how to hate. It may be their enemies they hate, but it is still hate. In fact, we are called to love our enemies, but instead, I hear hate. 

I would love to see our kids being taught how to love. Maybe then they will begin to play and have fun again.
